lyrics

I used to know a guy with short hair
One day he tried to show me how to meditate
He sat across from me with a blank stare
But every time I stretched my neck he’d salivate
I knew just what he stared at
I said, “Hey buddy do you mind?” He said, “If you insist”
Then he swung out his golden prayer mat
And in a second he had turned into a mist
He was a Buddhist, but he was a vampire

That brother was a point of light and
He always said that he could never hurt a fly
I saw him eating mosquito
He said he thought it was a Dorito but I know that’s a lie
He used to sleep down in my basement
And always reading the Tibetan Book of Death
He knew the Chinese art of placement
And there was always something foul on his breath
He was a Buddhist, but he was a vampire

He took my sister to the disco
Them flashing lights can have a very strange effect
She didn’t live to tell the tale though
They found her sitting in the lotus with a hole her neck
He was a Buddhist, but he was a vampire
And he played the guitar

In case you’re wondering where to find him
He’s probably in a golden casket facing south
He’s got a brightly colored wardrobe
And if you’re wondering, that ain’t catsup on his mouth
He’s what you’d call a bloodisattva
Take it from me you’d better leave that boy alone
He’ll hypnotize you with a mantra
And heaven help you if you invite him into your home
He is a Buddhist, but he is a vampire
